When trying to install an HP LaserJet P1102w, the device may become stuck in “media mode”. This mode causes the device to act as a disk drive so that drivers and software can be installed without additional media. Unfortunately, the device may become stuck as a drive and will no longer be recognized as a print device. You’ll see the problem when viewing the Device Manager – the printer will be listed as a disk and not as a printer.

To fix the issue, identify the P1102W  disk in the Device Manager and simply right-click and disable the disk. If the device is still not recognized correctly then re-enable the disk and try the install again.
